Captain Peele Jr. (Featured in the Prelude!)
After mysteriously losing his father as a kid, Peele dedicates his life to finishing what his father started. Finding the legendary Darkbeard’s treasure! But where he excels in ambition, he lacks in pretty much everything else but wit. Even with not many successful heists to his name, a severe lack in sword fighting skills, or even a ship for that matter, his determination and witty attitude always somehow sees him through to another day.
Captain Avarice (Featured in the Prelude!)
Having sailed the seven seas all his life, Avarice has amassed quite the respectable (well, as respectable as a bunch of pirates can be) crew and reputation. However, his eyes are set on the greatest treasure of them all, Darkbeard’s. However, that little pest, Peele, always seems to show up to pester him with that cocky attitude of his. But when Peele accidently unleashes the Eighth Sea onto the world, Avarice finds himself admiring Peele’s sense of determination to set things right, taking up a mentor role to help Peele do just that.
Darlin (Featured in the Prelude!)
Darlin’ is Avarice’s first mate and daughter. Brought onto his crew after their home was attacked and Darlin’s mother was killed, she watched her father be consumed by revenge-fueled rage and despair. But over the years, the two worked together to overcome their grief and build a new, found family in Avarice’s crew.
Darkbeard
The pirate legend himself. Found in ghost form by Peele, he tricks the young pirate into reuniting him with an amulet of dark magic, that resurrects him and unleashes the Eighth Sea. A sea that spreads like a plague, consuming land masses, and in their place, leaving dark, soul- infested water. At it’s center though, lies Darkbeard’s true prize. A gauntlet, capable of granting the power of and even communicating with darkness itself. With it in his possession, who could possibly challenge him?
Lawrence
Peele’s one and only true friend, as well as the owner of THE Bar on the island town of Port Picaro. While he of course helps his friend out in locating the clues to finding Darkbeard’s treasure, he prefers to stay out of the action, enjoying his somewhat quiet life in Port Picaro.
Mayor Minterton
Stuck-up, snotty, full of himself. Yeah, that about describes Mayor Minterton. Being the mayor of Port Picaro, he flaunts his wealth and power any chance he gets. But as soon as the slightest thing goes wrong, you can expect his inner toddler to come out. Especially when it comes to Peele. Not only does Peele have to ruin his events by trying to steal priceless artifacts, but now his ship? Unacceptable! But when the fast approaching Eighth Sea puts his life on the line, maybe Peele could just let bygones be bygones?
